Palais des Congres de Paris

Hotel Concorde La Fayette, Porte Maillot

We never got to explore the inside of this building but we are hoping to see "Roi du Soleil" there or somewhere, next year. The building lacks the French charm but, perhaps, the interior is nicer.

However, it might have that multi-purpose effect which is commonly found in American arenas. They remind me of a high school gym with temporary bleachers....very make-shift. Posted by Picasa

This photo got darker when I moved it from Picasa2 to the blog. I'll try for "lighter" next time.

Johnny, your photo is fine. It was fun to blow it up so I could see what was playing at the time you were here. I've seen a couple of shows there (Notre-Dame de Paris, the crazy Irish jig dancing thing...can't remember the name), and you're right...it's a bit multi-purpose. However, for good shows it's not so bad. Convenient via metro and a huge shopping centre underneath.

Ugly building if you want my opinion, and not much nicer in the inside as far as I can remember. Supposed to be convenient, although the metro corridor there is one of the longest I know in Paris as it spans the whole place de la porte Maillot!

Michael, you lucky boy, I love Notre Dame de Paris. We have the DVD which I play over and over. We have the sound track in the car and listen to it when we aren't listening to Michel Thomas' French Lessons. We will have too much to do in the few days we will have in Paris,2007. We are planning more time for 2008. Was the Irish thing called "Riverdance"? If so, we saw it in Kentucky.
Nathalie...I agree...not much as far as asthetics go.

Yes, it was Riverdance. I didn't want to go, but really glad I did.
